“My background was in the military service in the Air Force, at the age of 17. I put 4 years in, then I got out and decided to get married. I had a son right away. I went to Syracuse University and got a bachelor’s degree in business economics. Then I got a master’s degree a little later, in public administration. I started out in the government as a parks and recreation director. Then I became a deputy city administrator in South Field, and became a city administrator. I was there for 20, 25 years. After I retired, I had a place up in Caseville. Cass City, 12 years ago, was having difficulty to get a village manager. So I came down here and I said, ‘I will help you get a manager. I will train somebody.’So I use the expression, ‘I came here for 3 months, and that was 11 years ago.’ I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. A small community is a unique kind of thing. Everybody knows everybody. We’ve accomplished a lot of things.
What’s been your greatest accomplishment here? “The milk plant. And it’s still got a great future to it.”
